THIS SHOW IS NOW SOLD OUT
After three fun shows together this summer and fall, the York Jazz Ensemble has invited me back as guest vocalist for an early December concert at Trane. This one is a special presentation of the music of Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn, featuring songs like Lush Life, I'm Beginning to See The Light, Prelude to a Kiss, Satin Doll and many more. YJE is a nine-piece group with a swingin' horn section and a cookin' rhythm section. For the dinner & show package (available for just 80 patrons), Trane Chef Eglon has designed a three course menu, starting with an appetizer of grilled jumbo shrimp stuffed with crab meat and wrapped in leek with lime beurre blanc, plantain chips and tomato and mango salsa. The entree is pan-seared salmon medallion with quinelles caviar froth, warm potato salad and cherry tomato, followed by a dessert of cheese cake and pecan pie with chocolate sauce and mango coulee. All this served alongside music by two of of the best-loved composers in jazz! Trane is on the west side of Bathurst (between Bloor and Dupont). Dinner is available from 6:30 pm. Please write to Beverly for tickets or call Trane at 416 913-8197.
